Kate V Robertson talk

The CAN reuse materials Network

Join us for a talk by Artist Kate V Robertson on the new CAN materials sharing website and her work at the Sculpture Placement Group, with a Q&A afterwards.

Kate is a co-founder of the Sculpture Placement Group who’s mission is to prolong the life-span of sculptures & offer economic/practical solutions for artists; and CAN (Circular Arts Network) a new online platform for redistributing spare, used or surplus materials, exchanging skills, labour and coordinating transport for the benefit of local arts communities. Kate will introduce CAN to GSA students and give details of a forthcoming competition especially for GSA students who have used CAN.

Kate studied at Glasgow School of Art, recent exhibitions and projects include: Post, Online Exhibition, Patricia Fleming, Glasgow 2020, Terminal, Govan Project Space, Glasgow 2019, This Mess is Kept Afloat, DCA, Dundee 2017, Object(hood), Talbot Rice Gallery, Edinburgh 2017; Semper Vigilantes, OBJECT / A, Manchester 2016; Semper Solum, Oxford House, as part of Glasgow International 2016; Adaptive Expectations, BALTIC 39, Newcastle, 2016. She is represented by Patricia Fleming Projects, Glasgow.

Simply register on CAN, find some materials to use in your work on CAN, and send CAN pictures and short text showing the work and what material or resource from CAN you used to make it. They don’t need to see the finished work, just you using the materials.
