My Life is Potato

30 May 5pm: GSA sustainability invites you to an evening dedicated to soil and harvesting in global ecological context. Together we will talk about the importance of cyclical ecology, look into artist practices dealing with sustainable economies, manual labor, romanticisation of traditional methods of harvesting.

And what a way to look at this subject range – though something as simple as potato. Potato is an integral part of global food supply, potato is glorified by the artists of the past and present, potato is the most satisfying snack within the UK and some countries in Europe. Life is potato.

With introduction by John Thorne, book launch of ‘’Potato Planters’’ by Katerina Sidorova and an honorary screening of ‘’The Gleaners and I’’, a film by French avant-garde film maker Agnes Varda (1928-2019).
