Domesticated Landscapes, The Quiet Advance of Sprawl, and The Morphology of Native Moths

Charlotte Craig, Masters in Communication Design

“This project presents a study of the habitats of moths, based on native species of the United Kingdom.

To create the most authentic replicas of these moth species, organic matter has been collected from their natural habitats and then reconstructed through various forms of craft-making. These models are then presented as specimens.

These ‘man-made’ moths embody all the diversity of their natural environment, becoming the manifestation of their native landscape.”
