We want to support and celebrate what our curriculum already delivers – innovative design, green buildings and art that communicates. We want to broaden the student experience at the GSA, encouraging even more innovative thinking. Funding specialist speakers, linking projects to real businesses and getting students thinking about different ways of doing things can provide valuable career experience and open up new career pathways. This has to be part of the study mainstream, with all designers, artists and architects able to access information and gain knowledge, helping them reduce the resources they use and taking that experience with them after they graduate.
Considering the lifecycles of materials and the effects of processes like print making or model building can help to promote recycling and re-use; designing better products and buildings can reduce material and energy use; taking complex issues such as climate change, and using art as a powerful communication tool.
